Gardella has an all-encompassing background in small business lending, economic development, and outreach.

Gardella joined the SBA in the Montana District Office in January of 2013.  Prior to coming to SBA, Gardella spent the last 20 years actively engaged in supporting business initiatives at the Export-Import Bank of the United States. Between 2004 and 2012, Gardella was the Vice-President for Domestic Business Development. In 2012, he became the Vice President of the Small Business Finance Division overseeing key small business trade finance lending programs.

Prior to his experience at the Export-Import Bank, Gardella spent more than 12 years in banking in the fields of asset management, asset-based lending, commercial real estate, leverage and premium financing, and leasing. Gardella is a certified public accountant and holds both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in business administration.
