Hartford, CT - Beldotti Bakeries, LLC has been named the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) 2010 Jeffrey Butland Family Owned Business of the Year, according to an announcement by Bernard Sweeney, Connecticut District Director.
“The Beldotti Family is a true example of what hard work, dedication and good family values combined can achieve; we at the SBA are truly honored to salute this family business”, said Connecticut District Director, Bernard Sweeney. The SBA presents this award to a family owned business that has passed from one generation to another and the owner has responsibility for operating the business with at least a 15 year track record. The company has grown steadily in revenues, profits and employees as its reputation, retail and wholesale operations have excelled. By combining delivery services with retail operations, they bring more diversity into their business operations, strengthening their long-term potential and ability to weather economic turmoil. Most recently, they’ve begun production of specialty breads for a national baking company. Michael, Christopher, and James are the principals of this company.
James H. Darling, Vice President of First County Bank, nominated the Beldotti Bakery for SBA’s Jeffrey Butland Family Owned Business award. “We’ve enjoyed our long-term relationship with the bakery and the Beldotti family,” Darling says. “This business is one of the highlights of our local business/local banking partnerships, and we look forward to where future opportunities will lead.”
Today, Beldotti Bakeries and The Good Bread Bakery employ 31 people and provide fresh baked goodness throughout Connecticut and Southeastern New York. One visit to is all you will need to acquire a very strong desire to visit the Beldotti Bakeries in Stamford.
The Beldotti family will be honored along with six other small business award winners, at an awards breakfast at The Villa Capri, Wallingford, CT on Thursday, June 3rd, 2010.
