SBA and AARP hosting two Business Workshops in Wyoming
The U.S. Small Business Administration Wyoming District Office and AARP are teaming up to host two Encore Entrepreneur events this month, in Cheyenne on April 22nd and in Evanston on April 23rd. National Encore Entrepreneur Mentor Month is part of a larger effort by SBA and AARP to promote entrepreneurship among individuals ages 50 and older, although people of all ages are welcome. These events will connect encore entrepreneurs with SBA’s network of resource partners and other mentors who have small business experience.
Steve Despain, Wyoming SBA District Director said, “Encore Entrepreneur Mentor Month offers a terrific opportunity for people in Wyoming who are thinking about starting small businesses to connect with resources and learn from experienced entrepreneurs. We invite you to attend our workshops in Cheyenne and Evanston, or contact the Wyoming District Office team at 307-261-6500 for more information on the many small business assistance resources that are available in your community.”
With one in four individuals ages 44 to 70 interested in becoming entrepreneurs, and 63 percent of Americans planning to work during retirement, small business ownership is a good option. Small business owners with long-term counselors see bigger sales, hire more workers and last longer. Go online to www.sba.gov/encore to access SBA’s 50+ toolkit that includes free online courses targeted at helping encore entrepreneurs start or grow their businesses.
