SBA’s Philadelphia District Office Announces Free “Affordable Care Act For Business” Webinars
 

PHILADELPHIA– The Small Business Administration’s Philadelphia District Office has announced a weekly “Affordable Care Act For Business” webinar taking place until Jan. 1, 2014.

During each presentation, small business owners can learn the basics of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and what it means for their company and employees. An SBA representative will help small business owners understand the facts of the ACA so that they can make informed decisions about providing health insurance for their employees.

“The Affordable Care Act will require businesses to make many decisions regarding health care. This series is designed to help small business owners understand what they should consider in making the best decision for their business and their employees,” said SBA Philadelphia District Director David Dickson. “Preparing for 2014 is an important task. The SBA is your partner, ready to help you navigate, adapt and continue to find solutions that work for you.”

The free webinars focus on both federal and state provisions to help small business owners understand how the law will affect them. Topics being discussed include:

  • Small business tax credits (available to businesses and tax-exempt non-profits): who’s eligible for them and how to claim them
  • Small business marketplaces
  • Employer shared responsibility
  • Cost containment
  • Tools and resources available to learn more about the law
  • Webinars will conclude with a question and answer period

The SBA Philadelphia District Office “Affordable Care Act For Business Seminar” takes place weekly from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. until January 1, 2014. (Content will generally be the same each week.)
