SBA Celebrates the Graduation of Nine Local Businesses from its Emerging Leaders Class

Jacksonville, Fla. – Nine Jacksonville based businesses have graduated from the North Florida 2014 Emerging Leaders Program. The graduation ceremony was held on November 6, 2013 at the JAX Chamber. The program started in 2010, and is offered in select cities nationwide.

 

This program is designed to accelerate the growth and development of existing businesses through strategic planning, networking, and training. The Emerging Leaders Initiative advanced training series was only open to small business owners and executives that have annual revenues of at least $300,000, have been in business for at least 3 years, have at least one employee, other than the owner, and were also located in Jacksonville.

The Emerging Leaders Program in Jacksonville has a wide range of support from the community and business leaders. The following groups co-sponsored the 2013 Emerging Leaders Program: Jacksonville Women’s Business Center, SCORE, Small Business Development Center at the University of North Florida, Beaver Street Enterprise Center, Wells Fargo, Advantage Business Magazine, Nova Southeastern University, Jacksonville Student Education Center (SEC), and Bank of America.

Wilfredo J. Gonzalez, North Florida District Director stated “The Emerging Leaders program helps small business leaders in Jacksonville grow and create jobs. I congratulate each of the participants on first being selected to participate in this competitive program, and then for completing the intensive nine month curriculum. We expect to see great things from this group in the future.”
