Shelli Moreda, President of Contractor Services Group, Inc. (CSG), grew up on a farm in Idaho, working crops, a dairy and construction projects. It was here the values that underpin CSG were formed: conservation, hard work, integrity, quality and humility. Since then Shelli raised three children, held an exclusive contract with the State of California to implement performance based budgeting, was VP of a $100M international IT firm and ultimately returned to the “dirt” by launching a construction company.
Shelli had a simple beginning in 2004 by providing quality support services to contractors—Contractor Services Group. In 2006, CSG was incorporated and, in 2008, was accepted into the SBA’s 8(a) Business Development Program. SBA assistance, underpinned with solid core values, resulted in marked success with average annual growth exceeding 300%. CSG now has offices in CA and OR and is currently working jobs in three states. Bonded by Zurich in excess of $30M, CSG specializes in high profile projects with unique and diverse complexities.
Recently, the CSG Team received the ASCE 2012 Small Project of the Year award for the Coleman National Fish Hatchery modifications. This award is testament to CSG’s commitment to customer service, quality, timeliness and safety in areas of heavy civil construction including: dams, levees, environmental and habitat restoration/remediation, water treatment, demolition and geotechnical construction services. CSG’s defining corporate characteristics, including transparency and a pro-active team work ethic, have resulted in cultivating lasting relationships, exceeding client expectations and repeat business with current customers.
In addition to corporate participation in programs and associations, such as SAME, ASCE, CI, etc., Shelli donates personally to helping those in need by offering her time and resources to numerous community and charity organizations. It is this complete balance of success and humility that sets Shelli apart from other small business owners and aptly qualifies her as Contractor of the Year.
