Sacramento District Veteran-Owned Business of the Year

Kendall Brooks is President and CEO for Total Team Construction Services, Inc., an 8(a), service disabled veteran-owned company headquartered in California. Total Team provides general construction and design services to federal clients along the west coast, Texas, and Florida.  Since its inception in 2003 and through Mr. Brooks’ continuous leadership, Total Team experienced steady, year-over-year growth in both size and revenue.  Mr. Brooks attributes his current success to the guidance and wisdom of his close-knit family.

A graduate of Southern Illinois University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Workforce Education and Development, Mr. Brooks holds a Masters degree in Education, with focus on Adult Education and Training; this is in addition to several construction-related certifications..

Mr. Brooks started his career in the construction industry in 1997 after serving in the United States Air Force as a civil engineer in the HVAC and mechanical fields. Upon his separation from the military, he joined the staff of K.O.O. Construction, the firm that would later serve as mentor to the fledgling Total Team enterprise. In addition to Total Team, Mr. Brooks is active in a host of business and civic organizations.   He enjoys listening to jazz and contemporary music, fishing and camping at Lake Tahoe and watching the Sacramento Kings. Under his tutelage, Total Team received numerous designations and distinctions including Business Week’s 2010 Initiative for a Competitive Inner City Top 100 List in recognition as one of the 100 fastest growing inner-city firms in the United States.  For Mr. Brooks, his vision and goal for the future is a continuing focus to make Total Team the foremost, service disabled, veteran-owned construction firm in the country, noted for its excellence and service back to the community.
