SAN FRANCISCO – The San Francisco U.S. Small Business Administration District Office will participate in events the week of May 13th, celebrating the 80,000 small businesses and startups in San Francisco.  The activities throughout the week will give small business owners a chance to network, learn, and be recognized for their various achievements.

Every year since 1963, the President of the United States has proclaimed National Small Business Week to recognize the importance of America’s small businesses. SBA district offices throughout the nation host and participate in a variety of events and functions to honor the crucial role small businesses play in our communities and award deserving businesses in various categories.

San Francisco Small Business Week events will include the following:

Monday, May 13, 5:30 - 7:30pm

Meet and mingle with more than 1,200 small business owners and community leaders. Connect with dozens of business resources. Savor and sample food from San Francisco's local restaurants, bars, and food entrepreneurs. Click here to register.

A private awards ceremony with remarks and awards given by Mayor Edwin Lee, San Francisco SBA District Director Mark Quinn, Wells Fargo Regional President Michael Billeci, President and CEO, and San Francisco Chamber of Commerce Bob Linscheid.  Awards will recognize several small businesses for their innovation and contributions to San Francisco and Northern California.

 

This reception will be attended by small business and city leaders, small business award recipients, Small Business Week sponsors and small business advocates.  This is a closed event.

SFEDA & SAN FRANCISCO SMALL BUSINESS WEEK MIXER

A Small Business Week tradition hosted by the San Francisco Economic Development Alliance (SFEDA), a collaboration of nonprofit organizations that provide training, funding and ongoing support for small and micro businesses.  Come mingle with your other small business owners at this “no host” mixer and learn about some terrific local business resources. Register for this event.

 

The San Francisco SBA District Office covers Alameda, Contra Costa, Del Norte, Humboldt, Lake, Marin, Mendocino, Napa, San Francisco San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Solano, and Sonoma Counties. In Fiscal Year 2012, the District guaranteed over 1,500 small business loans valued at $807 million.  125 banks, credit unions and community lenders participated in this program. Annually, the San Francisco District Office cohosts over 1,000 training events for over 50,000 Bay Area small businesses or prospective businesses from SBA resource partners.
