SBA Seeks Nominations for the 2013 Small Business Economic Development Advocate Award

The Wyoming District Office of the U.S. Small Business Administration is seeking nominations for the 2013 Small Business Economic Development Advocate Award.

An individual who has fulfilled a commitment to improve community economic growth and the advancement of small business opportunities for small business owners may be nominated. Nominees may or may not be economic developers. A “team” may be nominated so long as the number of individuals in the team nomination does not exceed four. Individuals who have received an SBA Small Business Person Award or Advocate Award within the past five years are not eligible.

Individuals will also be considered who demonstrate collaboration with SBA small business resources partners, SCORE, Wyoming Entrepreneur Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and the Wyoming Women’s Business Center (WWBC) in an effort to provide educational opportunities and enhance the quality of life of their community should be recognized!

Nominees must also be residents of and employed in the United States or its territories and will be subject to background checks. Small businesses owned and operated by nominees must comply with federal civil rights laws. While receipt of SBA assistance is not required, it is preferred. Consult your nearest SBA district office if you have questions.

Nominations must be submitted to the U.S. Small Business Administration district office in the state or territory where the nominee is located. All nominations for the above Small Business Economic Development Advocate Award must be postmarked, emailed or hand delivered to the appropriate SBA district office no later than January 31, 2013.
