With the Affordable Care Act (ACA) scheduled to go into effect on January 1, 2014, the U. S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Mississippi District Office is partnering with various organizations in an effort to help get the word out to small businesses about the new law.
On Wednesday, December 11th, from 9:00 am to Noon, the U. S. Small Business Administration will host an Affordable Care Act (ACA) Resource Fair at the Mississippi e-Center @ JSU’s Convention Hall located at 1230 Raymond Road in Jackson, MS.
The event offers a unique educational experience for small business owners to hear from healthcare officials, state and federal entities charged with informing the public of best practices, tools and resources in utilizing the new healthcare law.
Participants invited include the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Internal Revenue Service, Office of State Insurance Commissioner, University of Mississippi Medical Center, Humana, Magnolia Health Plan, Small Business Majority, Oak Hill Baptist Church and the Jackson State University Small Business Development Center.
This event is FREE to the small business public to have their questions answered! Attendees will learn of Navigators who help facilitate enrollment in qualifying health plans, exchanges, tax credits available to offset their insurance cost, access to a plethora of materials at various booths each toward advancing access to healthcare.
