WILMINGTON, DEL.—The Small Business Administration’s Delaware District Office announces fourth-generation family-owned Hopkins & Sons, Inc. as the winner of the 2013 “Delaware Family-Owned Business of the Year.” Acting SBA Delaware District Director John Fleming will offer official congratulations to the firm and tour its headquarters facility on May 13, 2013 at 10 a.m. This event is open to the media.

Hopkins & Sons is a full-service relocation company, providing moving, packing, crating and storage services for residential and commercial customers moving locally, across-country, or internationally. Hopkins & Sons, Inc., has served customers in Delaware and beyond since 1946 when the company started in Elsmere, Delaware with a single truck. Hopkins & Sons has since then grown into a multi-million dollar business with employees and equipment all across the country.
The SBA’s Delaware Family-Owned Business of the Year award winner is selected annually as part of the SBA’s National Small Business Week awards competition. Hopkins & Sons, Inc. was by Mark A. Pitrizzi, Vice President, Hopkins & Sons, Inc.
Hopkins & Sons, Inc. will be honored along with other Delaware District Small Business Week winners at a local awards event on May 21 leading up to the National celebration week to be observed June 17-21. National Small Business Week recognizes the small business community’s contribution to the economy culminating with the announcement of the National Small Business Person of the Year.
