Free Course Offered on HUBZone Certification & the Affordable Care Act
BATON ROUGE – The U.S. Small Business Administration will be teaching a free workshop in Baton Rouge on May 16. The class is designed for small business owners who are interested in learning more about SBA’s certification program for firms located in a designated HUBZone. An information session on the impact of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) on small business owners will also be presented during the workshop.
SBA’s Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone) Initiative is designed to introduce your small business to the program, help determine whether your business is eligible, and support the efforts of your business to participate. The HUBZone program promotes economic development in geographic regions that have been historically underutilized as business zones. To find out if your business is located in a HUBZone, visit http://www.sba.gov/content/hubzone-maps.
The course will be held on Thursday, May 16 at the Southern University Ag Center, 181 B.A. Little Drive, Room 191, in Baton Rouge. Registration and networking will begin at 8 am, and the class will start at 9 am.
