SBA has added a link for lenders on the web site called, “Working with SBA,” which some of you may find of interest. It includes links to information on How to become an SBA Lender; How to Participate in the Preferred Lender Program; How to Participate in the Certified Lender Program; Other Partnerships with SBA; How to Become an Express Lender; Franchise Findings; and Advertising Your SBA Relationship.
A revised SBA webpage you may wish to bookmark is the Forms section that includes links to most of the forms needed by lenders to document SBA-guaranteed loans.
If you have not done so already, another useful SBA webpage you may wish to bookmark is Standard Operating Procedure 50-10-5(d), the principal guidance for lenders about how SBA guarantees loans. Subpart A contains the requirements for lenders and Certified Development Companies (CDCs) to participate in SBA lending programs. Subpart B contains the policies and procedures governing 7(a) business loan programs including standard 7(a), the Certified Lenders Program, the Preferred Lenders Program, SBA Express and the Agency’s Pilot Loan Programs. And Subpart C contains the policies and procedures governing SBA’s 504 Certified Development Company Loan Program.
