Albuquerque, NM – New Mexico was the first stop of a two city tour for Jeanne A. Hulit, Acting Administrator for the U.S. Small Business Administration.  She assumed the role of Acting Administrator in September 2013 leads a team of more than 3,000 employees and manage the agency’s portfolio, including more than $90 billion in loan guarantees. In addition, the agency helps small businesses access nearly $100 billion in federal contracts each year and supports counseling and technical assistance to more than one million entrepreneurs. SBA also provides disaster assistance to small businesses, renters and homeowners.

While in New Mexico, Acting Administrator Hulit toured Exhibit Solutions, a local Native American, and woman-owned small business in recognition of National Native American Heritage month.

Gina M. Euell started Exhibit Solutions of New Mexico, Inc. as a home-based business with one employee in 1999.  Today the company is located in a 9,400 square foot facility, employs five full-time employees and is the largest trade show and graphic provider in New Mexico.  In 2012, Euell was named the SBA New Mexico Small Business Person of the Year and she is a 2012 Graduate of SBA’s Emerging Leaders Initiative.  Euell also participates in federal contracting as an SBA 8(a) Program certified contractor.

In a radio interview with the Albuquerque West Chamber of Commerce Acting Administrator Hulit promoted Small Business Saturday on November 30th and asked her listeners to shop at a small business on that day.

Acting Administrator Hulit also met with members of the small business community at the Albuquerque Hispano Chamber of Commerce to address their concerns about government contracting, access to capital, the economy in general and SBA tools to assist small businesses.

The visit concluded with lunch at a local New Mexican restaurant.
