
Minority-owned Business Finds Long-term Success
The story begins in the year 1984. Anderson Highway Signs & Supply, Inc. is a minority-owned Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) 8(a) Corporation, which manufactures a variety of signage as well as, provides traffic control supplies and services. The field division provides traffic control services throughout the State of Wyoming and has started branching into Colorado, Montana, and South Dakota. In addition to signs and traffic control, they offer services such as guardrail and delineator installation, basic road stripping, geo-textile installation, and the sale of safety products. Most importantly they like to offer customers fast, courteous service.
Anderson Highway Signs & Supply, Inc. has greatly expanded the sign shop and is producing a variety of signs. These include magnetic, vinyl stick-ons, auto stripping, sandblasted wooden signs and realty type signs. Their shop is equipped with up-to-date computer equipment and software, and they have two full-time graphic sign designers on staff. This year they have added a program that allows them to make enhanced detailed graphics for signs and vehicles. Anderson Highway Signs & Supply has also acquired distributorships with companies such as Band-it and S-Square posts.
They also provide traffic control on construction projects, emergency situations, as well as local events. They have two auger trucks used to install permanent highway signs, guardrail, and delineator posts, and have also acquired a distributorship with Sign Fix. Sign Fix is a new system for permanently attaching large highway signs to structures.
Anderson Highway Signs & Supply Inc. is a proud recipient of the coveted Blue Chip award, and the owner and president; Mrs. Esther L. Anderson, was distinguished as small businesswoman of the year in 1992, 1994, and 1999. Mrs. Anderson also was awarded the Woman-owned Business Enterprise Award for the Federal Highway Department in 1992.
