If you are interested in SBA’s 8(a) and/or HUBZone Program being a key to your success, then these free events are for you. Did you know the Federal Government is the world’s largest buyer of goods and services? In 2012, almost $235 million* in goods and services were purchased from Mississippi 8(a) and HUBZone certified small businesses. These conferences are solely for Mississippi firms interested in certifying their business as 8(a) or HUBZone as well as HUBZone firms interested in recertification. In addition to other eligibility criteria, those pursing 8(a) must be at least 51% owned/controlled/managed by socially and economically disadvantaged persons and in business for minimum of two years. Also, those pursuing HUBZone must have their principal place of business located in a designated HUBZone in Mississippi (click HERE to view the HUBZone map) and meet the 35% minimum employee residency requirement in a HUBZone.
Benefits:
- Attendees will have their questions answered by SBA 8(a) and HUBZone experts from Washington DC who review/decide upon applications and appeals.
- Approved firms become eligible for 8(a) and HUBZone contract opportunities** (Max of $6.5 million for sole source manufacturing HUBZone projects and $4.0 million for all other industries). Higher amounts for both 8(a) and HUBZone competitive projects.
- Joint Ventures/Teaming Opportunities to bid on contracts.
- 24 Major Federal Buying Agencies have a 5% statutory contracting goal for SDB firms (8(a) qualifies automatically) and a 3% goal for HUBZone certified firms.
- And more!
