Jacksonville, FLA --- The U.S. Small Business Administration has programs and services designed to start and grow small businesses across all industries. One of the “sweetest” businesses with which the SBA North Florida Office has worked is Kilwin's of Jacksonville. This chocolate and ice-cream shop is owned by Dana Stallings, who is also a graduate of the SBA Emerging Leaders (formerly known as e-200) program.
The SBA Emerging Leaders program is designed for existing business owners or senior managers of companies that have been in business for at least 3 years and have annual sales of at least $300,000. The Emerging Leaders Initiative is an intensive executive-level series intended to accelerate the growth of high-potential small businesses in America’s underserved cities. The program is offered in limited cities, including Jacksonville, FL, on an annual basis. This program is competitive, and there are a limited number of seats available for this unique and free opportunity. Please visit the Emerging Leaders programsite for more information.
Kilwin’s of Jacksonville is owned and operated by Dana and Vance Stallings. The couple opened the franchise in 2005 in the St. Johns Town Center, located at 10281 Midtown Parkway #125, Jacksonville, FL 32246. Ms. Stallings recently stated “The Emerging Leaders program gave me the tools to focus on growing my business. I identified gaps in my marketing strategy, and I have hired a full-time Marketing Manager as a result. I base many of my decisions on the concept of goal setting, which was a key component of the program. The course was intense; however the reward will be sweet, as I have a clear vision of how to grow in the next 3 years.”
Wilfredo J. Gonzalez, North Florida District Director, stated “The Emerging Leaders program is a great opportunity for small businesses in Jacksonville. At the end of the program, participants graduate having developed a custom 3-year strategic growth plan. They also learn from other successful business leaders and highly sought after industry experts for free. We hope to see as many small businesses take advantage of this training as possible.”
The 2013 Emerging Leaders Program is scheduled to start shortly. Please contact Natalie Hall or at (904) 443-1902 to request more information on the program or to register.
