e200 Santa Ana Class of 2011

Eight business owners from throughout Orange, Riverside, and San Bernardino counties graduated from SBA's e200: Emerging Entrepreneurs program on Tuesday, October 25th.  The intensive program, providing more than 40 hours of classroom instruction, has been a collaboration between the SBA Santa Ana District Office, University of Redlands, the American Indian Chamber of Commerce of Orange County, California Native American Business Enterprise Center, and the Orange County/Inland Empire Regional Lead SBDC.  As part of their graduation requirements, the participants each presented their three-year Strategic Growth Action Plans to a panel of SBA-affiliated lenders and consultants.  According to District Director Adalberto Quijada, "This program gave many business owners who otherwise would not have the chance an opportunity to work on their business as opposed to in their business.  After instruction in diverse areas such as business assessment, finance, sales and marketing, human resources, and accessing capital, we were very pleased with the presentations which demonstrated their plans to continued success and long-term sustainability."

Since the e200 program's inception, the district offices from throughout the country selected to offer the program have identified business owners who have shown a high potential for growth in underserved markets and provided them with the training, networking, resources and motivation required to expand operations and create jobs.  The Santa Ana District is one of two districts in California to offer the program, which is open to businesses that have annual revenues of at least $400,000 and have been operating at least three years.
