ATLANTA – The U.S. Small Business Administration reminds Private Non-Profit Organizations (PNPs) in Virginia that April 29 is the deadline to submit Economic Injury Disaster Loan applications. The loans are available from the SBA because of severe storms and winds between June 29 and July 1, 2012.
PNPs located in the following counties that provide non-critical services are eligible to apply: Albemarle, Alleghany, Amelia, Amherst, Appomattox, Arlington, Augusta, Bath, Bedford, Bedford City, Bland, Botetourt, Buckingham, Buena Vista City, Campbell, Carroll, Charlotte, Charlottesville City, Clarke, Covington City, Craig, Culpeper, Cumberland, Danville City, Dinwiddie, Fairfax, Falls Church City, Fauquier, Floyd, Fluvanna, Franklin, Frederick, Fredericksburg City, Giles, Greene, Halifax, Harrisonburg City, Highland, Lexington City, Louisa, Lunenburg, Lynchburg City, Madison, Manassas Park City, Martinsville City, Montgomery, Nelson, New Kent, Nottoway, Orange, Page, Pittsylvania, Powhatan, Prince Edward, Pulaski, Radford, Rappahannock, Roanoke, Roanoke City, Rockbridge, Rockingham, Salem, Shenandoah, Smyth, Stafford, Staunton City, Tazewell, Warren and Winchester City. Examples of eligible non-critical PNP organizations include, but are not limited to food kitchens, homeless shelters, museums, libraries, community centers and colleges.
The SBA offers Economic Injury Disaster Loans to help meet working capital needs such as ongoing operating expenses for eligible non-critical PNP organizations. This assistance is available regardless of whether the organization suffered any physical property damage. Loan amounts can be up to $2 million, and interest rates are as low as 3 percent with terms up to 30 years. The SBA sets loan amounts and terms based on each applicant’s financial condition.

The filing deadline to return economic injury applications is April 29, 2013.
