Sacramento, CA – Greg Lopez, Director of the U.S. Small Business Administration’s (SBA) Colorado District Office, announced today that SBA is moving its Loveland Business Recovery Center in Larimer County.  “The center, which is located at The Old HP Building at 815 14th Street SW in Loveland, will move to the Guaranty Bank at 1401 S. Taft Avenue, 1st floor in Loveland on Monday, September 30,” said Lopez.

“Business owners who sustained property damage and/or economic losses from the severe storms, flooding, landslides and mudslides that began September 11, 2013, can continue to speak with SBA representatives Mondays through Wednesdays from 9 am to 6 pm until further notice.  SBA customer service representatives (CSRs) and counselors from the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) will also continue to be on hand to help businesses impacted by this terrible disaster,” said Lopez.  No appointment is necessary.

According to Lopez, SBA disaster customer service representatives will be available to meet individually with business owners to explain how a low-interest federal SBA disaster loan can help finance their recovery.  “SBA is the federal government’s primary source of money for the long term repair and rebuilding of disaster damages that are not fully covered by insurance or other recoveries.  We will help business owners apply online using our Electronic Loan Application, answer questions about SBA’s disaster loan program, explain the application process and close their approved disaster loans,” he said.  “Business owners don’t need to wait on their insurance to settle or on a contractor’s estimate before seeking SBA financial assistance,” Lopez added.

Colorado SBDC State Director Kelly Manning said, “Our SBDC counselors will provide free counseling on a wide variety of matters designed to help these businesses overcome the effects of the disaster and plan for their future. Services include assessing business economic injury, evaluating the business’s strength, cash flow projections and most importantly, reviewing all options to ensure each business makes decisions that are appropriate for its situation.  They will also help businesses apply for this much needed financial help.”

“So far, SBA has approved more than $1.4 million in low interest loans for Colorado residents and businesses affected by this disaster,” said Lopez.  Individuals and business owners who sustained damages are encouraged to register with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) by calling the tele-registration number at (800) 621-3362 or (800) 462 7585 (TTY) for the deaf or hard-of-hearing, prior to the November 14, 2013 deadline.

Businesses of any size and private, nonprofit organizations may apply to SBA for low-interest disaster loans of up to $2 million to repair or replace damage to real estate, leasehold improvements, machinery and equipment, inventory and other business assets.  These loans cover uninsured losses or situations where the insurance coverage falls short of repair or replacement costs.

For small businesses and most private, nonprofit organizations of any size, SBA offers Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDLs) to help meet working capital needs caused by the disaster.  EIDL assistance is available regardless of whether the business suffered any property damage.

Additionally, disaster victims may go online to file an SBA application for disaster loan assistance.  The Electronic Loan Application (ELA) is accessible via SBA’s secure Web site at https://disasterloan.sba.gov/ela.

SBA customer service representatives and SBDC counselors continue to be available at three BRCs previously opened in addition to the Loveland location.  Their locations, days and times of operations are as follows.  No appointment is necessary to meet with any representative.
