Peter Shaw was selected to serve as the Deputy Chief Financial Officer in 2006. He initially came to the SBA in 2003 as the Budget Officer. He was responsible for managing all aspects of the Agency’s budget formulation, review and analysis. Prior to that, he was the Budget Officer for the Peace Corps. He also co-managed a financial management improvement project, which brought Oracle Federal Financials (the same system used at SBA) to the Peace Corps. Prior to that, Peter worked with the USAID-funded Sahel Regional Financial Management Project, through which he supervised financial management improvement projects in the public and private sector in eight West African countries. Earlier than that, he was a financial advisor with the Niger Integrated Livestock Project and managed a credit program for herders in central Niger. He is a graduate of the University of Michigan, he earned an M.A. at Michigan and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He was a Peace Corps Volunteer in both Cameroon and Morocco.
