This is a follow-up to our phone conversation of last week concerning two proposed regulations, Competitive Range Determinations and FAR Part 15 Rewrite - Phase I.
These are significant regulatory proposals that could have a sweeping impact on many small firms. The standard sixty day comment period is not sufficient. The small business community needs more time to review and constructively respond to the proposed regulations. I request that you consider an extension, such that the comment period on both rules would coincide and comments would be accepted through December 12, 1996.
The extension would make a very strong positive statement to the small business community and give ample opportunity for small firms to provide meaningful input.
