Eric P. Munson, who most recently served as President of Eric Munson & Associates, LLC, is the Office of Advocacy’s Regional Advocate Region VI, covering Arkansas , Louisiana , New Mexico , Oklahoma and Texas . He is the direct link between small business owners, state and local government agencies, state legislators, small business associations, and the Office of Advocacy of the U.S. Small Business Administration.

Having worked in both the public and private sectors, Munson has a wide variety of experiences that he brings to the Regional Advocate position. As President of Eric Munson & Associates, he represented the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) as the State Director for Arkansas , the Arkansas Wholesale Marketers Association (AWMA), the Associated Builders and Contractors of Arkansas (ABC) and the Arkansas Independent Automotive Dealers Association (AIAOA). In addition, he served as the Natural Resource/Economic Development Liaison and as a Legislative Aide to Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee. Munson has vast experience in financial services where he has previously worked as an investment banker for Stephens Inc. and served as a financial consultant for Smith Barney/Citigroup.

Munson received his bachelor of arts degree from the Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville .

As a Regional Advocate, he helps identify new issues and concerns of small business owners. He also monitors the impact of federal and state policies on small business at the local level and works closely with local government officials, state officials and legislators, and the Chief Counsel for Advocacy to develop programs and policies that help, rather than hinder, small business growth.
