July 1, 1995 MEMORANDUM Over 1900 small business people met in June 1995 at the White House Conference on Small Business and adopted 60 recommendations on issues of greatest importance to them. A partnership between the Office of Advocacy, Small Business Administration, and representatives of delegates to the White House conference has been established to work on implementing the recommendations and to monitor progress. This partnership will also be relied on for developing small business input on emerging public policy issues. A network of Regional Implementation Chairs and Regional Issue Chairs (all of whom are small businesspeople) has been established to work with the Office of Advocacy for these purposes. Names, addresses, phone and FAX numbers are contained in this Implementation Network Directory. The Directory has been placed on SBA Online and will be updated periodically as names and other information change. If you have a modem with a communication software package or access to the Internet the directory can be accessed by connecting to the SBA Online bulletin board. Select "Services Available" from the top menu and enter the character found beside the topic "Advocacy-Small Business Services". Next, enter the character found beside the topic "White House Conference on Small Business" and select the characters found under The 1995 White House Conference on Small Business Implementation Network. Single copies of this directory may be obtained by writing to: Small Business Administration Office of Advocacy--Suite 7800 409 3rd St., S.W. Washington, DC 20416 While this Directory lists over 200 individuals who have agreed to continue working on the White House Conference recommendations, it is hoped that all delegates to the Conference will stay involved. Policy formulation is a dynamic process and small businesses need to make their voices heard to ensure that their interests are being considered. If I can be of assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me at 202/205-6533 or FAX 202/205-6928. Jere W. Glover Chief Counsel for Advocacy
