Healthcare.gov- Gathering Public Feedback and Making Improvements

Note: This blog is from Healthcare.gov and first appeared on October 21.

We know using HealthCare.gov has been frustrating for many Americans. The initial consumer experience of HealthCare.gov has not lived up to the expectations of the American people. We are committed to doing better.

We’ve been gathering feedback since the day we launched – from our customer service representatives, social media channels, and online surveys and comments. And we’re listening.

We’ve been making changes to respond directly to your feedback and will continue to do so. A few of our most important changes so far:

  • You can now preview plans and prices available in your area without filling out the online application.
  • You can find out, with an improved calculator, whether your income and household size may qualify you for lower costs on your monthly premiums and out-of-pocket costs.
  • You can apply for coverage 4 ways: By phone, online, by mail with a paper application, or with the help of an in-person assister.
  • We’ve been adding educational online content where you tell us you need more information: About estimating your income, accounting for people in your household, eligibility rules, and more.

And please keep the feedback coming – on this blog post,  on any of our social media pages, or by using the little “Was this page helpful?” survey that appears near the bottom of most pages on the site.

We won’t rest until every American who needs affordable, high-quality coverage can get it - using whatever method works best for them.

It is a great idea to get feedback from Public so we hope for improvements.
well done
Lets hope for improvements
It's great that there is this website but the frustration of completing an application on the healthcare website is beyond words. Can't get past a certain point in the application and it continues to state my annual salary is $201,000 when I am not working! This is very frustrating. I am getting tired of playing with it
It is good to see that the administration has finally come to it's sense a bit and is now giving individuals that have lost their coverage due to the ACA the same courtesy it has offered businesses in the form of and exemption from the individual mandate.
Great idea to get help/feedback from Public, this is surely going to get attractive useful improvements.
I used the Healthcare.gov website when it was first roled out without any issues. However, I was aso able to bypass most of the issues that followed because in my home sate of New York, the New York State of Health Insurance Marketplace allow us to find insurance that would work for us. I think many people were not aware that some states provide a Health Insurance Marketplace that serves them.
In my opinion, the best way to make improvements would be to give individuals to same courtesy exented to businsses by allowing them a years exemption.
I tried registering for Healthcare.gov. I experienced an error when logging in, so I waited to get an email. Once I did, I clicked the link inside the email and it took me to the site where it displayed an error message saying "this account doesn't exist." Now I can't re-register because it says I have an account I cannot access.
