How are Business.gov and the business pages of FirstGov different?

FirstGov provides the information and navigation links for all of the Government web pages. Business.gov provides up to date information in a single location for businesses. In the future, it will also provide compliance assistance tools and easy one stop access to business issues and forms.

What is the purpose of the Forms Catalog?

The Forms Catalog will provide citizens and businesses with a common access point to federal Agency business and citizen forms. It will provide citizens and businesses with the ability to search for business and citizen Federal forms needed to interact with the Federal Government.

What forms can I find today in the Forms Catalog?

Not all federal agencies are included in the Forms Catalog today. To know which agencies have forms in the Forms Catalog, you can "search by Agency" name and review the pull down menus. Also, you can Click Here to see the agency list that is included in the Forms Catalog.

How many forms are in the Business.gov Forms Catalog?

Approximately 2000 out of an estimated 4400 business and citizen forms. More forms will be added as additional agencies join.

How is the Forms Catalog different from the earlier FedForms.gov?

The Forms Catalog will contain sorted forms for businesses to access in a single location. In addition, agencies are responsible for keeping the catalog accurate in the Forms Catalog, which will ensure that the most relevant forms are present on the site.

The Forms catalog will reduce burden on citizens and businesses associated with locating Federal forms for both voluntary and regulatory interaction with the Federal Government.

How do I find a form?

The E-Forms Catalog contains many, but not all, of the forms issued by Federal agencies. There are 4 ways to search forms the Forms catalog.

Agency ? You can search for forms by the Agency that 'owns' or publishes the form.
Form Number ? You can search for forms by the forms number of the form you are looking for.
Forms A-Z ? You can search alphabetically by form name. Form names are listed by their official name as defined by the Office of Management and Budget.
Search ? You can search for forms by keyword.

If you don't find the form you are looking for, try search through the Agency Forms links to go to the Forms page of the Agency that 'owns' or publishes the form that you need. You can also try www.firstgov.gov.

Can you send me a form?

No, You should use the catalog to find the form(s) you need. You can then download, print or the fill, sign, and file or mail the form depending on the form. If you wish to received a paper form, please contact the respective federal agency directly that 'owns' or publishes the form.

You should contact the appropriate agency directly. You can submit questions through the E-Forms Catalog, but those questions will be routed to the appropriate agency. Can I submit my forms through the E-Forms Catalog?

No, the E-Forms Catalog currently simply links you to the web site of the Federal Agency that 'owns' or 'publishes the Form. In some cases you will be able to submit the form online while in others you will have to print and mail the form.

How do I report bad links to the forms?

Please send us an email at the Contact Us link. Be sure to tell us all of the information about the form with the bad link such as agency, form number, and name. From that we'll have the agency correct the link. Thank you.

How do I report problems with the web software ?

First, be aware that the system operates best on the MS Internet Explorer (IE) browser. The software will be adjusted soon to improve performance with other browsers. If you experience problems while using IE, please send us an email at the Contact Us link. Let us know the page number of the web page with the problem and as much details about the symptoms as possible. Please include your contact information so we can follow-up with you if necessary.
