I thought it was only necessary to have a business plan when you are starting
your business. It seems I hear that it is a good idea to have a business plan
and update it every 3-5 years? Is this true?

We are struggling writing a business plan now. My questions are:
...1) How important to potential investors is years in business?
2) How important is having real sales vs potential sales?
3) I have several products in the works in design and various stages of
production that have yet to be marketed. Is this a bad thing when asking for
a loan to finish getting them to market?
