New Employment Eligibility Verification (I-9 Form)

While perusing through the Small business Watchdog blog this morning, I came across this post on a delay for the new Form I-9 rule. The US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) office announced that recent changes to the Employment Eligibility Verification (Form I-9) have been delayed for a comment period until April 3rd. On and after this date, employers will need to start using the new form when verifying employees.

All employers are required to verify an employee's eligibility to work in the United States. Within three days of hire employers must complete an Employment Eligibility Verification Form, commonly referred to as an I-9 form.

Visit USCIS to download the correct Employment Eligibility Verification Form and obtain more information.

Believe it or not, a lot of employers will make credit checks when you apply for employment. What you do outside of work should have nothing whatsoever to do with work, but that would make sense. (Which isn't allowed, just ask Congress.) A late payment is something you want to avoid, even if it means a no fax cash advance to help out. It is better to get a repair your credit and know you're safe than have to repair your credit later on. If you have a blemish on your credit report, repair your credit.
