I agree with the suggestion of hosting a Affiliate Program on your Server. I use Clickbank, but use a program that imports my Clickbank Feed and allows Categorizing and searching of the products through a database. Like Clickbank it gives a description of the product and how well it is doing. Again as suggested on 4/15, I also recommend hosting this on your server. You can even run this through a Facebook application with dedicated page. I've literally only began using the Facebook Developer Apps last week. This is just another path with Affiliate Marketing (Hosting on your Server as suggested as well as making it available on Facebook where wit the Developer Tools on Facebook you can also track usage) Hope this might give you some more ideas This post was edited to remove a link. google loves.

We have had the opportunity to work with a couple. I would recommend
investigating AvantLink as our customers using that have experienced success.
Each has their unique toolkit, but the fundamentals are the same across the
options.

Actually, we can't exactly say this is good and this is bad. It depend on your visitors. If your site is about movies, you can sell movie related affiliate items.

My favorite way to market affiliate products is to look at online businesses I've bought from (or would like to buy from), and are in my niche.  Then I check to see if they have an affiliate program.    That way my affilate products fall naturally into my niche.  I don't have to go out of my way to market them.   Natalie

It really depends on your market, You won't really know what products will sell in your particular market with what affiliate providers until you try to sell them. The best margins for making money are with informational products. So if your target market has these products, start trying to promote these first.
