Grants are probably out of the question unless your community will also be for low-income seniors - those already on entitlement programs. Ask around to local banks redarding SBA programs - some banks will underwrite depending on what your plans are. There are also many private lenders that just love these types of development. If you could provide a bit more information like the amount you are seeking and the purpose of the funds (i.e. construction) - then I might be able to point you in the right direction.

There is a loans abnd grants finding tool here on this site, not sre where exactly but I'm sure christine can point you towards it. As for Govt assistance I think you might be out of luck. I believe there are loans and grants avaialable for some projects, but these tend to be for politically friendly projects like energy efficiency etc. In general getting a grant or subsidised loan for a normal commercial enterprise is pretty tough. How much do you need to borrow? Have you considered seeking private investors?
