Hi my name is Andrew and I am from the UK.

 

I am looking to expand my recruitment business to the USA, if I buy a virtual office in the USA but do all the work from the UK I am breaking any laws?

I will also register my business in the USA and pay taxes.

esa2010 - Have you seen the Business.gov guide on Starting an Online Business? It will walk you step-by-step through the process you need to follow to legally set up an online business in the US. I would pay particular attention to the section on international trade laws. best of luck.

If you live in the US and want to do business in the UK, with an online business its fine. If you are incorporated in the USA, AND have a UK bank account, the UK does not tax you on corporate earnings in its country. If I were you and get a virtual office in the UK, make sure to open a bank account in the UK, store your money there. Then quarerly you can make withdraws to your corporate bank account in the US, if you pay yourself in the US, of course you will have to pay taxes on that, but at least you save getting double taxed in two different countries. Note you have to be incorporated.
