Am I doing something wrong?

If I wanted to make t-shirts that had phrases such as "_ screwed me over" or
"I don't like _" with the blank spaces being the name of a very well known
loan company could I be sued by that company if the business became big and
the t-shirts popular? Or even if the phrases were not that disrespectful is
there some type of reprimand for having their name on my product?

the named company did indeed do what you said they did. Saying "I don't
like..." is not as libelous and saying they screwed you over. I wouldn't do
it. Why invest the time and money and risk being told by the business's
attorney to cease and desist.
