Any grant's avail. for a new S-CORP business?

looking at starting a woodshop shop in, we are forming an s-corp, I have searched up and down for a grant that will work for this however I have found so such luck, but people keep telling me I am eligible, anyone have any news for me? I've visited some of the government websites already but have not seen a real definite answer, thanks

SBA.gov would be the place I would recommend; you won't get a 'grant', but you can get a small business loan to get your business on the right path. The goverment doesn't just give money away in grants... tey only give it away to banks :P

As I told some other people on this form, you need to get a small business loan. Grants are ridiculously difficult to receive or are way too specific to qualify.

There is nothing per se for starting an S corp that opens up a particular grant. You need to try and research specific grants for your industry. They are a lot harder to get then people make them out to be. Like others have suggested an SBA loan is a great place to try and get financing. Another recommendation is to use a https://www.lendingclub.com//invite/respond.action?int=67555&referrer=DRK lending club to borrow money from. You would probably be better off trying to get a small business loan - but, there are grants depending on the business and needs. We have included a small section on our website regarding government and private grants as there has been a lot of noise in this sector lately.
