There are some grant programs to help the unemployed learn a new skill or trade. You have seen some of these programs advertised on TV. Just know that they are very, very specific which makes them very hard to qualify for. We also list some vetted grant programs on our website.

We are unaware of any special grants for the unemployed...Most grants are not given out to individuals, rather to 501c3 organizations.  However, if you visit http://www.benefits.gov  you can discover a portal for special assistance for things like bills, tution, and other expenses.    You will need to answer the questions in the Benefit Finder to get matches from more than 1,000 Federally-funded benefit and assistance programs. Afterwards a program description will be provided for you with the next steps to apply for any benefit program of interest.
