My name is Josh McKenzie and I have deaf parents. Growing up I was very intimate with the needs of the deaf community and now I am attempting to start up a company that provides interpreters with a technological edge. The Video Relay Service Industry is relatively new, providing interpreters via video phone to the deaf to meet their needs for telecommunications. Not limiting to just placing phone calls for the deaf but also providing interpreters at extremely low cost to businesses that must provide interpreters to meet federal ADA accessibility standards. Where a typical interpreting agency would provide services with a 2/hr minimum charge (avg $120 per session). We would only charge by the minute, you pay what you use.
My partner is connected with the Post Office and now we are pending a deal to install Video Phones in all post offices for deaf and hard of hearing employees and customers of the Postal Service... Nationwide.
So now my main focus... meeting that nationwide demand.
