Muskegon, I'm sure all the major providers ahve business card offerings - if you have a good credit history (which it sounds like you do) you should have them falling all over themselves to give you their card. It sounds like the rewards programs they offer will be the real selling point for you - I know Amex have a reward point acceleration scheme which might be beneficial. Watch out for the fixed costs though - they can quickly erode any benefits from a rewards program if you're not careful. Don't be fooled by '1 year free' offers either, unless you shut down the card they will simply clobber you with fees in year 2.

I use the Chase PerfectCard and have been happy with it. The card credits back to your account each month 3% of all gas purchases and 1% of all other purchases. This might be a good option if you want a cash back card (for your business) rather than another type of reward card.

Per my understanding, American Express has one of the best business credit cards. But, the biggest issue you might face is that not everyone accepts AMEX.

Keep in mind that most small business owners will need topersonallyguarantee the business card and it may show up on yourpersonalcredit report which may reduce your available credit. That being said it is a great way toseparateyour expenses

I think there are card comparrison sites on the net....if there aren't it might be worth setting one up! Seriously though you really need to look at the specific offerings from each major supplier. Visa and MC are almost universally accepted online and internationally, and if they have a good accelrator program they might be worth a look first.

Thanks for the replies. I've narrowed my selection down to the AT&T Universal Business Card and the Discover Business Card. I'm leaning toward Discover mostly because I like their reporting tools and I've had a personal Discover card for many years. I'm checking to see if all the vendors I deal with accept Discover.

American Express has a great business card however i believe only the first year is free. After that there is an additional expense associated with it. You might want to consider your local bank or credit union. They typically will offer you a card at a pretty good rate without any issues. Especially if you are have an account that payroll is taken out of with them. Let us know what you end up doing, I think you have a good idea going with your % back thoughts. *edit* - sorry i just noticed you are leaning towards discover card. Well...for what it's worth, I finally settled on the Chase 'ink' business card. It gives a 3% reward on gas, office supplies, restaurants, hardware and home improvements. 1% on other items. There's no fee and it has very good customizable reporting capabilities. It's a MasterCard so will be accepted pretty much everywhere. Cheers!
