I am trying to turn part of my house into a store to sell bread,eggs,milk and personal items in a small town where there isnt a store. I am not sure where to start as far what kind of license I need and where to look into this at. If anyone can help it is greatly appreciated.

Hi, consider contacting your local health department to see what licenses are required to sell perishable goods. In addition, your local Small Business Development Center (SBDC) will be able to assist you on the licenses and permits you would need to operate. Contact your city clerk's office for information. If your town is small enough that it isn't incorporated, then contact your county clerk's office. In most locations, a retail business can't be operated from a private home, so be sure to check for licenses you might need and zoning restrictions.
