Hi, I agree with the first comment - that you need to check with your state and local gov.  But, it's not difficult to set up.  Also, a small biz lawyer might not be a bad idea - the Small Business Administration (SBA) puts on legal seminars that are really helpful. What products are you using?  I like Florock.net.  Very established, privately owned company specializing in epoxy floors.  Experienced, local reps all over the country.  They have a great epoxy garage floor system, called Florochip.

Hi Andrew, It depends upon your local community.  Our business in Arizona required a Contractors License, bonding, insurance, state and local sales tax licenses for every city we applied coatings.  In NC only a DBA, State and Local Sales Tax license are required.  Your local Small Business Administration office (SBA) should be able to steer you in the right direction.   Training is very important whether required or not.  Nothing worse than having to redo a job because of lack of training.  Many of the better vendors provide training.    Scott Jarvis Garage Detailer
