Check out these upcoming Small Business Matchmaking Events coming to 4 cities in the coming months. Event is co-sponsored by SBA.

Boston, MA - 10/13/09

Business Matchmaking is an innovative procurement initiative started

six years ago by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) in

conjunction with the private sector. The free program is now presented

by American Airlines, HP and American Express OPEN in cooperation with

SCORE, the SBA related counselor corps resource of the federal

government, and supported by a host of major corporations and leading

non-profit groups dedicated to small business growth.

The highlight of the event will consist of some 2,000 one-on-one 15

minute selling sessions for small business owners with more than 70

senior buyers from the U.S. Departments of Transportation, Justice and

State along with the IRS, Homeland Security, Army Corps of Engineers,

GSA and the Navy. Major companies sending multiple buyers include

American Airlines, HP, BAE, Bell Helicopter, Lockheed Martin and

Gulfstream Aerospace.

That is a great idea for an event! With the internet these days and lack of personal touch in our society, a lot of people don't understand the value in word of mouth marketing and face to face communication.
