business name conflicts when operating a national online marketing business

My company is registered in Michigan.  I am in the process of developing a website that offers Internet marketing services in approximately 100 cities across the US.  I recently discovered a product company with the same name operating in another state.  My question is how do I preserve my business name in other states?  While I could register the company in each state, that is very expensive.  Any help will be appreciated.
