Good Afternoon , I have a question, I plan to operate to distinct company's offering two different services. My idea was to create an Umbrella LLC. then operate the companys as subsidiaries of the LLC. The thing is I have an EIN number for one business under a sole p. As well as an EIN under a LLC. The new business is different from the sole.p. Should I apply for an EIN for that business anyway. And if so how do I merge the two companies under the LLC which is only operating as an umbrella.

Try getting in touch with your local Small Business Development Center, which is one of SBA's resource partners. They're located across the country andprovide free business counseling and answers. Visit SBA Direct to find your local SBA resource partners by entering your zip code.
They should provide some guidance about the requirements for this type of business question for your area.
