Canadian business while living in the us

Hello,

 

I am planning to start an online business. I am Canadian and I currently temporary lives in the US. My visa does not allows me to start my business in the states, I was wondering if I could start my business from Canada and also, how it would work with the taxes.

Cindy, I'm not sure about the rules of starting a business in Canada. If you are going to be selling internationally online, Business.gov has a guide on collecting sales tax online, but this information was created with US law and policy in mind.

Hi Cindy: Yes, you can start your business in Canada and sell your products to the US market. You would pay Canada taxes. The only time you would pay US taxes is if you actually have a location in the US. Canada actually has a really good small business help center. I'm sure this is a question they answer regularly. Cindy, The today's instrument of the business is the Internet.   I don't think that you will have any kind of problem where ever you want to by having online business.
