Hello, I've started a remote computer maintenance service with the help of two co-workers. I'm having a tough time getting off the ground, mostly because I'm a great computer technician but not so great at marketing! Anyway, I'm curious if any one here has ideas of how to market to small businesses. Our service is unique and I think valuable to small businesses. We offer an affordable subscription based monthly computer maintenance service and we can help anyone with a broad band connection. Sometimes I wonder if maybe I should focus on telling people that most computer problems can actually be avoided by performing regular computer maintenance, which is something most people don't do and may not be aware of. But as I said, I'm a computer tech, so I'm not sure what will be of interest to small business owners and sole proprietors. Any ideas about a compelling message and an effective way to reach them? thanks, Mike (This post was edited to remove a link. Your competition in the area which you do business and see what they are
doing.
Go to the Chamber of Commerce and gather information that would best help you
formulate your message.
Review on-line, including Google Keywords, so determine what keywords are
best to utilize and that resonate with your potential customers.
Talk to your current customers and survey them asking what best resonates
with them.
Utilize a message that allows you to use SEM keywords so you can benefit from
the Internet.

you claimed your "Google Places" and "Yahoo! Local" listings? A properly
optimized website is a good start. The next area of focus should be with
receiving referrals from clients that you have already provided quality
services. Referrals can play a great role in helping to build your client
base.
