You may want to share your business plan with a counselor at a small business
development center or a SCORE office in your area. Their services are free
and they can recommend loans for which you may qualify. Grants are not
generally available to for-profit businesses unless you have developed a new
technology that is in the national interest. If you invented the technology
for your window coverings and using them significantly reduces energy costs,
you might possibly qualify for grant funding to develop the concept. An SBDC
or SCORE counselor can tell you if your product might quality and help you
proceed.
