Good Morning! I'm trying to get a business off the ground -- not even officially started/named yet with the state. I'm looking for a legitimate and free way to look into and apply for legetimate business grants (either nationally or in the state of Florida). Every offer I've ever seen wants shipping and handling. Isn't there one company out there that just says fill out your info and off we go without shipping us a CD/DVD?
Anyways, my most immediate need is $1200 in back business startup expenses since I started my business, $250 per month for advertising (eventually that, realisticly, should increase as it grows), and $500 rent per month for my home office.
Down the road, I'd like to get a Masters Degree in some business field, such as either Economincs, Marketing, or Small Business Administration. We'll cross that bridge when I'm more financially stable.

You have to make sure your business is already establish then that is the
time you request for a grant. It's somehow difficult but we all have to
undergo this.

Unfortunately the federal government does not provide startup grants for small businesses - you have a much better chance of getting a loan. Based on the amount of money you need, there are many programs that might work for you. Check out the Loans and Grants Advisor blog on SBA's Microlaon Program. The microloan program is designed to
accommodate as many borrowers as possible and almost all small
businesses are eligible. The program allocates funds anywhere from a few hundred dollars to $35,000. Florida's local microlender can give you further assistance.
For more information on funding, try using the Loans and Grants Search Tool to set specific criteria and find out what financing opportunities are available that fit your needs.
