Search Engine Optimization companies have sprung up everywhere in recent years, all offering to dramatically improve your search engine rankings for 'reasionable' charges.
I've never used one, but I'm considering it if they can really generate the sort of results they claim to, but I don't want to throw my money way on a promise that something might happen in a couple of months. Can anyone recommend an afforable SEO company that offers a good range of services for differnet budgets and actually delivers results?
Ideally I'd be looking for someone that will agree to be paid when the results appear. They need to be reputable too - I don't need my site getting nailed for 'black hat' practices carried out by someone acting on my behalf.
If you've used a good SEO company I'd love to hear your story and recommendations.
It's best to do as much of your own SEO as possible. Just pay for things you cannot do for yourself which really isn't much. You can spend all kinds of money if you don't look into what you are getting. It's almost like going to a mechanic. All kinds of upsells.
Didn't used an SEO company because I'm trying to learn on my own how to optimize a website. In the second place, I don't trust them.
Charges on seo compamy depend on country to country. Many of the companies charges on submission based and few charge on result basis. All company give proposal which is very difficult for non seo to understand that proposal, every company have different different proposal. What i suggest you is select seo company near your location only and if it is possible personally contact them, understand the term, proposal, charges because seo is ongoing process if work stop--then your sales - traffic go down, so talk seo company personally within your location. Google it the best seo company.
I have never used an SEO company. There is a tremendous amount of information online and especially in SEO Forums. If you do hire someone, have him/her fine tune your site and teach you as well. It worked with me.
It is stretching the truth to say that there are no reliable SEO companies. Yes, there might be many scam SEO companies but if you know what to look for when selecting a SEO company, the risk of hiring fraudsters is reduced. As another user suggested, Distilled is a very reputable SEO company. They are very expensive (think $1000/hr) but they deliver very good results.
SEO Inc is another white hat SEO company.
Individual Consultants tend to charge around $150/hr around my area.
There are a ton out there. You just need to watch out when companies charge really low rates. They charge low rates because they use gray or black hat tactics.
I would recommend reading everything on seomoz. I have found them to be the most accurate blog on seo. They also provide some great tools to find out how your business is doing in regards to targeting certain keywords.
The most important thing imo is to structure your website with seo in mind. Simple logical tree like linking helps alot fo your nagivation. Google will naturally rank up your website when your site usability and content is unique and fresh.

I've always been cautios of syndicating or mass submitting my on-site article content, as I don't want to run into trouble witrh Google's anti-duplication standpoint. G pushes the importance of unique content pretty heavily, and at present hte articles I have on the site are exactly that - unique.
If I mass publish them via article submission services won't they lose their uniqueness?

Submitting article not only gives you backlinks but also drives traffic. So feel free to submit to as many directories as you can.

If you submit articles to lots of free article directories especially with high prevelance for keywords such as viagra and acai. Goodle will bunch you in with them and penalize you. I suggest avoiding mass article submission unless they are going to relevant directories.

I am an SEO, and I worked for a lot of business. The Blackhat SEO always get good results in the short term, and the white hat SEO get their results in the long term. I worked for this domain name doing white hat SEO and this is the best way. Thank you.
