off course there will be difference in google seo and bing seo, as both search engine have there own algorithm for seo. Google give more importance to quality content and more importance to off page activity like more backlinks. As in bing it see site structure, meta, heading more. So it is but natural ranking will be difference in both search engine.

In my experience, and it is limited, an online business will rank higher in Bing or Yahoo based upon domain names and page titles.   Google, to me, gives more credence to backlinks.   That is the main difference.

The different engines put different weights on the different links coming to your site. Google uses the famous PageRank algorithm as one of the signals to rank your site, while Bing (and previously Yahoo) had their own algorithms for ranking (with similar concept). Since the introduction of caffeine, it is not known how PageRank now plays into this formula along with the other factors at Google. This is of course in addition to page structure, and I believe Google for example ignores the keywords meta tag completely. Also, as others pointed out, Google is big on fighting spam and paid links, but I never heard Bing or Yahoo having major battles to fight spam, in fact I see many websites that rank well on these engines because of shadow spam websites, etc, while Google punishes spammers.

Just going through the process myself and it's very convoluted...Watch out for these alledged SEO firms that want to charge you thousands for pseudo-expertise... As someone who worked in the Advertising biz for decades, I find the SEO busienss rife with charlatans ready to take your cash ...

Ya sure new idea for bing seo :- Heavy Flash sites rank better with Bing than Google. A good strategy for a site with a lot of Flash is to emphasize SEO for Bing and continue your Google efforts. Bing and Google draft off one another indirectly as they are both continuously crawling off the web. That means Bing can help heavy Flash sites do better on Google over time as well.

The general idea of both Google and Bing is very similar but their are some differences. Google scan and index the Internet much faster and it is much more updated. Bing is giving more weight to on page factors like meta tags, headlines and such. Also, Google has a better success with spammers. I think that the focus should always be on Google when you do SEO because you can't ignore the fact that they rule something like 75% of all search traffic!
