I have no high school education, but have sailed around the world twice and have my own business. I am no millionaire, but I make a good living and enjoy learning new things - very different to when I was at school. The biggest lesson in life that i have learnt is to look at eveything as a challenge, not a problem. I cannot spell well, but when you look at how everyone is texting and writing now, I'm better off then most. You can succeed with limited eduction, it all depends on what you call success. I do think education is important. You will find handful of dropouts who did tremendously well in life but those people are just very few in number. Majority of people (CEO's, Successful business owners) are increasingly those people who had good formal college education. In short, formal higher education is NOT mandatory, but it DOES help you to gain knowledge and prepare well in life.

Parents tell us to have a good education to have a good job. But good job can't make you billionaire. Most billionaires take some risk to make big money. So good education is just good beginning. In my opinion, a formal education is good if you want to join an existing business, but if your trying to start your own business it might actually hurt you because it convinces to the norms in that industry.

Firstly it all depends on how you define succesful... wealth, happiness, impact on others etc. Lets assume we are talking about wealth... if you define it differently e.g. becoming a professional then education becomes more important. Education is not a prerequisite for material success however the interesting question is whether education is likely to increase the chances of success. You lose some things get an education (e.g. time, money spent on education, a free thinking open mind potentially). You also gain things (e.g. knowledge, educated network of friends, skills). The question is whether the net balance of what you gain and what you lose means you're more likely to succeed? My gut says that it does vary but the biggest determinant is the field you want to be successful, in some businesses education is important in others it isn't. Personally I would say that education can enrich your life in so many more ways than money can.

It depends on person to person and company to company like many company appoint person who doesn't have degree but very good exprience-so that company select expeirence candidate without degree and the alrenate to this many company select canditate on basis of degree also, they look there degree first.

Education is important also. Why? Because you may get more information and knowledge about your interested field. But there are many people who got success and they are from different fields. So it actually depends upon your luck and hard work. Education doesn't guarantee about success.

Formal business education has advantages to make you understand the general situation and market economy but this does not guarantee your success. To be successful, you must learn to perceive the opportunity that most people have not learn , you must excavate the essential knowledge to success.
