I have a small jewelry company in the bay area and we currently order materials after we have purchase orders in hand. We manufacture our product in our shop but want to switch the manufacturing model to having the product partially made offsite by contractors but in order to do this we need to order materials two months out. I am looking to learn about best practices around inventory forecasting and analyzing product turn rates, basically the art of inventory control. Any suggestions would be most appreciated.
