Hi, I'm 22 yrs old and I'm trying to start my own online t-shirt business. I started using a site called zazzle.com to produce the shirts and I've been really successful. I like the company but I want to be able to make the shirts I want to on my own terms and express my creativity and be my own boss. I just want to know how do I go about starting a small at home Internet business, what kind of permits do I need if I need any?,how do I go about getting more customers and which kind of loans do I need to apply for?

find clients. Who are they? What t shirts are they looking for? build a basic
site and see if it works. Think niche. Think local. Think how am I better
then those other guys?

really passionate about it you will succeed. We have been online since 1996
and never took out a loan. Use a reward credit card to buy stuff. Be very
frugal. Buy used equipment. Learn SEO. Do it all yourself. If you have enough
drive and work very hard at it you will succeed.

myspace, etc. - build an interested audience. Pinterest should be fantastic
for this type of business, especially if you're very creative, you can easily
attract people to your website.
Since you're a one man band, your creativity is your unique selling point, go
for that. Don't try to compete with me-too type of t-shirt businesses, find
your own niche.

doing a sole proprietorship. You will have to claim it on your income tax,
but it is a lot easier. As for marketing, the first comment was great. You
can definitely focus on social media. Once you start your website, I would
focus on social networking. Perhaps you can start small by selling on
etsy.com- it's a site for putting handmade goods, and I'm sure this will fall
under that category.
working from home is an excellent idea. Just keep in mind that though it is
on the internet, it does take a lot of time in marketing, especially in
custom printed shirts. Of course there is always a niche, but keep in mind to
try to go as specific as possible to stand out. You can go to Google and
search for 'google keyword tool' to find specific phrases people are looking
for. Once again, working from home is a great idea, but it won't come over
night.

t-shirt products you'll be producing. Your startup overhead(expenses) will be
very low compared to a physical brick and mortar location business. One thing
I do advice you not to do though is naming and registering your internet
business after whatever website domain name you choose. Your website should
be operated under your official to-be-registered business name (LLC or
S-Corp, look up registration fees for your particular state's secretary of
state website. remember that websites come and go and many people often
change domain names so try to avoid that.
Market the product through social media interaction on Facebook, Google Plus,
Twitter and now Pinterest. Your product fits well with their site model and
customer base, think about how you'll use these sites. Create personal and
brand pages on each one of them to promote your product.
Signup to social blogs and discussion forums related to your product. Do not
try to sell to anyone right away, you need to build online relationships and
trust with them first, then they'll be open to visiting your website and
buying your product.
After the initial stages of setting up shop, it's all about marketing by
building relationships. You'll also need to learn about SEO (search engine
optimization) to get your website ranked well on Google and Bing for high
traffic and visibility which will hopefully convert to sales.
